  • Dementia care, residential care, respite care

Meadowview Care Home is in the leafy residential area of Penketh in Warrington. As the name suggests, it overlooks a meadow, which is currently home to horses. The single-storey home is also surrounded by beautiful gardens and patio areas for your loved one to enjoy.

Meadowview Care Home was originally part of a school site. The home is now a separate building, but two primary schools remain next door, even sharing the same access drive. The strong connection between older and younger generations remains through our intergenerational events, and the sound of children playing is a joy to our residents.

Our home provides residential dementia and respite care. Our staff are trained to support your loved one, as well as you and your family, with dementia and memory care needs, managed by Registered General Nurse Mariana, who has more than 9 years’ experience in social care.

Having qualified as a general nurse I started working in the social care sector 9 years ago after I rediscovered how important it is to make a difference in vulnerable people’s lives. Through determination and the desire to offer quality of life to the elderly, I qualified as a Registered Home Manager and started my role at Meadowview Care Home over a year ago. Being here and seeing what we have achieved and how happy our residents and families are, makes my life full of gratitude towards my team and content that together we have made a difference.

Meadowview Care Home provides dedicated dementia and memory care. To give that care in the best way we can, we’ll meet and get to know your loved one before they join us at their new home. That way, we’ll assess not only their care needs but their personality, preferences and individuality to provide them with care that feels familiar, calming and comforting.

Our team of trained carers record and monitor your loved one’s care with a personalised, electronic care plan. This keeps you updated on their care 24/7 for complete peace of mind. And we always encourage you to pick up the phone and call us with any questions about your loved one’s care, at any time.

Bedrooms & Facilities

As a single-storey home, each of Meadowview Care Home’s 41 bedrooms is located around the communal areas for a real sense of community and belonging. Most rooms overlook the gardens or meadow.

As a specialist dementia and memory care home, we know safety and comfort is paramount. Your loved one’s room has its own 24-hour call button and floor sensor mat, and each door is individually painted to support dementia care needs. Rooms also have a memory box outside, filled with past treasures personal to your loved one to help them find their room with comfort and ease.

The home’s large, social dining room brings our residents together for a homely feel to mealtimes. Menus are carefully prepared using fresh ingredients and, when possible, local produce. Your loved one will enjoy home-cooked classic dishes focussed on balanced nutrition and great taste and can also take morning and afternoon teas with homemade, freshly baked biscuits and cakes. Hot and cold drinks are available at all times.

For our residents living with dysphagia, we prepare, puree and present meals carefully so your loved one can enjoy them safely and comfortably, without compromising taste and style.

Our own activities team plan and lead indoor and outdoor activities to suit preferences and personalities. This includes intergenerational events with the two neighbouring primary schools, which bring joy to our residents and the children alike. Other every day activities include reminisce afternoons, craft making, chair exercises, games, and themed days where residents and staff dress up and complimenting meals throughout the day.

As well as musical entertainers visiting the home, we regularly have outings in our private minibus to garden centres, local pub for bingo and a beverage and visits to Walton Hall and Gardens.

Meadowview Care Home is a single-storey house built around communal areas. Your loved one can move easily between rooms to relax in the TV or sun lounge, or sit out on our secure patio and garden area. We also have our own hairdressing salon and private gardens for our green-fingered residents to enjoy.
